A motorbike rider was taken to hospital after he was thrown over the barrier between two lanes on the Ipswich Motorway in a three-vehicle crash just before 6pm.

The male motorbike rider was taken to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital with a non-life-threatening rib fracture after he was thrown from the westbound to the eastbound lanes on the motorway at Redbank in the collision with a car and truck, in which the car overturned multiple times.

The crash caused delays in both lanes.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area after the car flipped multiple times.

Queensland Fire and Emergency services were working to make the area safe, with police also on scene.
