Man, woman injured in drive-by shooting at Park Ridge, Logan
Two young people have been shot in a drive-by shooting south of Brisbane overnight.
Two people have been shot and a crime scene established after a drive-by shooting in the Logan suburb of Park Ridge overnight.
Neighbours have described the scene as scary and said they heard the gunshots before people screaming.
Emergency services were called to reports two people were injured after shots were fired at a Baileys Lane property from a passing vehicle at 1.20am.
An 18-year-old man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition, while a 20-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening-injuries.
CCTV footage from a nearby house captures the sound of several gunshots being fired, before a motorbike can be seen riding from the scene.
Police remain at the scene, combing over a 2011 Holden Commodore sedan peppered with bullet holes.
A Park Ridge man said he heard several gunshots in the early hours of this morning.
“Around 1.15am, a motorbike passed this street, and then after 50 seconds here, about five to six round off shots could be heard,” he said.
“It was so very loud, and then then after 10-15 minutes, police came and then started doing their job.”
Another man described the shooting as “very scary”.
“I heard multiple shots from a gun and then I heard a bit of screaming noises,” he said.
“Just after five minutes, the police arrived. It was very scary, all the people that live in the houses around here have kids.
“My daughter was sleeping in the front bedroom facing the street. It shouldn’t be happening.”
Investigations are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
