A 17-year-old girl has been charged after a man was shot at North Lakes Hotel on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to a carpark on Lakefield Drive about 9.40pm to reports a man had been shot in the arm, with injuries also to his chest, after an interaction with a group alleged to have included three men and a teenage girl.

The 42-year-old victim was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police later arrested a teenage girl at Riverview.

A 17-year-old Windsor girl has been charged with one count each of attempt to murder, possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons and authority required to possess explosives.

The matter was briefly mentioned in Ipswich Children’s Court on Tuesday, without the child’s appearance.

The court heard the girl was having a lengthy conversation with her solicitor, Vanessa Ryan, in the watch-house, during which the court had to phone to confirm her attendance and learn the defence position in the matter.

Ms Ryan sought a brief of evidence and a one-week adjournment.

No bail application was made.

Magistrate Jason Schubert ordered a brief of evidence to be ready by May 6.

He adjourned the matter to April 1 for mention in Brisbane Children’s Court.

The defendant was remanded in custody.

The three men, who police believe were also allegedly involved in the incident, remain on the run as of Wednesday morning.

Police say there is no threat to public safety.

The car driven by the alleged offenders, an Audi Q5, has been seized by police.

A neighbour of the hotel told The Courier-Mail he heard gunshots and rushed outside to see a man with a bag, and a woman in blue top flee the scene.

“I saw a car and a guy grab a bag and run away,” he said.

“There are odd sorts of movements of cars and people in and out of that hotel.”

Another neighbour said she heard a gunshot and then a car “screech off.”

“ We just saw the police and the tape going up, and the ambulance taking someone away,” she said.

Investigations are ongoing.
