Man in critical condition after being struck by car in Brisbane

A man is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in an inner-city Brisbane suburb on Thursday morning. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Emergency services are on scene after a car struck a man in Brisbane on Thursday morning.

Paramedics, including the high acuity response team, attended the intersection of Main Street and Baines Street in Kangaroo Point around 10.30am after reports a man had been struck by a vehicle.

Paramedics transported a man in a critical condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital at 10.54am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the nature of the man’s injuries were unknown.

The crash has now been cleared and all lanes of Main St at Bairnes St are open in both directions.
