A man has died four days after he was hit by a car north of Brisbane.

The 93-year-old Burpengary East man died after suffering a significant head injury in an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at Burpengary East on Thursday, March 20.

Initial investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit suggest a Ford Falcon was travelling northbound on the Bruce Highway Eastern Service Rd, Burpengary, before it struck the man at around 9am.

The man received a life-threatening head injury and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

He died as a result of his injuries on Monday.

The driver of the Ford, a 65-year-old Bray Park man, did not receive any physical injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information or vision to come forward.

The incident happened the same day that a man was left fighting for life after he was trapped under a car as he inspected a mechanical issue in Nundah, in Brisbane’s north.

Emergency services rushed to Imbros St about 7.51am Thursday after reports a man was trapped underneath a car and needed freeing.

A man in his 50s was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Three fire crews attended the scene to assist the person trapped under the car.

Initial investigations showed a car was stationary, with a mechanical issue. The car rolled back on to the man as he investigated the issue.

Anyone with relevant information or dashcam or CCTV vision was urged to contact police.
