Man has died at the scene of a serious-single vehicle crash into a retaining wall south of Brisbane on Monday.

Emergency Services rushed to the intersection of Edelsten Road and Amber Crescent at Jimboomba about 12.35pm to a man who was trapped in his car after he hit the wall.

Police say initial investigations indicate a silver Nissan Patrol was travelling in a westerly direction on Amber Crescent, before travelling through the T-intersection and crashing into a retaining wall.

Three Queensland Fire Department crews attended and worked to free the man using cutting gear.

The driver, a 62-year-old Jimboomba man, died at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
