A 27-year-old man has been charged after an alleged hit-and-run south of Brisbane early on Saturday that left another man with fighting for life.

A 27-year-old man has been charged after an alleged hit-and-run south of Brisbane at the weekend that left another man fighting for life.

The Kuraby man was taken into custody late on Saturday night, following the incident earlier that morning.

Investigations into the incident on Browns Plains Rd left a 30-year-old man fighting for life.

It’s alleged he was struck from behind about 12.15am on Saturday.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Coronado St, with police looking for a grey or silver coloured 4WD.

The injured man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries.

The Kuraby man was charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm and common assault.

The man is expected to be in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time is also urged to contact police.
