A man has died after falling from the fifth floor of a hostel balcony in Brisbane city.

A man is feared dead after a five-storey fall from a building in Edward St in Brisbane's CBD.

A man has died after falling from the fifth floor of a hostel balcony in Brisbane on Sunday night.

Emergency services responded to calls that a man had fallen five storeys at the Nomads backpacker hostel on Edward St in Brisbane City about 9.20 Sunday.

Paramedics including critical care and the High Acuity Response Unit treated him for critical injuries however he died at the scene.

A police spokesperson has confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
