A man has been charged after he allegedly tried to run from the scene on foot after the car he was driving hit a pedestrian in Brisbane’s busiest night-life precinct.

A man has been charged after he allegedly tried to flee on foot after the car he was driving hit someone outside a nightclub on Thursday night, then went on to hit a street sign.
Police were called to Brunswick Street after reports that a red Toyota Corolla had struck a pedestrian, about 10.15pm.
The 33-year-old driver of the vehicle allegedly continued driving along Brunswick Street after hitting the pedestrian, before the car hit a street sign and came to a stop.
The driver then allegedly fled the scene on foot, prior to police arrival, but was found shortly after at the intersection of Ballow St and Wickham St where he was taken into custody.
He was charged with six offences including one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driver fail to remain at incident and render assistance and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday and was remanded in custody to reappear on June 27.
The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital with minor injuries.
