A man has been taken into custody and an emergency situation revoked after a siege in Brisbane’s inner city overnight.

About 8.30pm police were called to a River Tce property at Kangaroo Point to conduct a welfare check on a man, but upon arrival were forced into negotiations with the man.

After extensive negotiations an emergency was declared at 10.15pm.

Specialist police were dispatched to the scene, with motorists and pedestrians advised to avoid the area.

Traffic diversions have been established.

Specialist police took a man into custody without incident around 3am after making entry to the home.

There was nobody else within the home and the man was not injured.

Officers will allege he possessed a replica firearm.

Investigations continue.
