A man who was trapped following a “high velocity impact” single-vehicle crash at Atkinsons Dam has been rushed to a Brisbane hospital in a critical condition.
Queensland Police, ambulance and fire services were all called to the scene on Atkinsons Dam Rd in the Somerset Region just before 2pm on Wednesday.
The trapped man was freed after a long extraction process.
He was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Early information suggests the driver crashed into a tree, but it is unclear what caused the crash.
