A local Gympie business went up in flames early this morning with emergency services taking more than three hours to contain the fire.
Just after 5am on Sunday, emergency services were called to a large fire in a factory on Tozer Park Rd in Gympie, which is understood to be a local supplier of cleaning products known as Sunchem.
The fire in the iron shed was “well involved” on arrival, according to a Queensland Fire and Emergency spokesman, with five crews and additional units on scene.
Just before 8am, crews had worked to get the fire under control and continued to dampen down the remainder of the flames.
QFES, paramedics, Gympie Council officers and Energex were all on scene to assist.
It’s understood there were no patients involved.
According to the website, Sunchem has been supplying cleaning supplies for more than 30 years but was recently under new ownership since 2016.
