A 19-year-old has been killed after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a guard rail north of Brisbane overnight.

A 19-year-old man has been killed in a motorcycle crash north of Brisbane overnight.

A motorcycle rider has died following a single vehicle crash in Kallangur on Friday night around 11.20pm.

Police said that at 11.20pm the blue and white Yamaha was travelling along Thompson Road when it crashed into a guard rail.

The rider, a 19-year-old Kallangur man, sustained significant injuries and died at the scene.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist with investigations are urged to come forward.
