An Ipswich home has been destroyed after it burst into flames this afternoon.

Four fire crews arrived to the house on Mill St in Goonda about 4.30pm on Tuesday to find it fully engulfed.

Firefighters were forced to attack the blaze from the outside, and although they were able extinguish it within minutes, most of the home was left destroyed.

But the mammoth effort made by crews amazingly saved the two neighbouring homes.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman has confirmed no one was inside at the time of the fire or required any treatment from paramedics.
Emergency services remain on scene, and investigation will be launched to determine the cause of the fire.
