House engulfed in flames at Springfield Lakes

A Springfield Lakes home went up in flames on Monday night, with emergency services called to contain the blaze.

Three QFES crews attended the scene on Opossum Circuit just before 7pm.

Ambulance crews also attended but no patients were assessed.

Distressed residents in the area posted on Facebook on Monday night.

“Explains all the sirens. Praying everyone is safe,” someone commented under a Brisbane Notified post.

Community groups also had residents’ conversations on the fire.

“Does anyone know what’s happening around Horizon Drive area? Hope all are OK,” someone said.

“There is a house fire xx praying all humans and animals r safe,” another local replied.

Police were called and confirmed it was a mental-health-related incident.
