A Southern Downs home ravaged by fire was deemed too dangerous for fire investigators to enter, with a plan B executed using drones.

Firefighters were called to a single-storey home at the corner of George and Wood streets in Warwick about 7.40pm on Friday, following reports of a house fire.

Five crews battled the fire and while everyone was accounted for, the home could not be saved.

The structural damage to the home made it too dangerous for fire investigators to enter on Saturday, a Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said.

The QFD spokesman said investigators returned on Sunday and used drones to assist with their investigation, later determining the fire was non-suspicious and likely the result of an accident.

Queensland Police also attended the scene and are treating the incident as non-suspicious.
