Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a two-car crash on the Sunshine Coast involving six people.
Paramedics were called to David Low Way, Peregian Beach, about 4pm on Friday in response to the incident.
Six people were treated for various injuries, including a six-year-old girl who was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition with abdominal pain.
A boy was also taken to the hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A man in his 40s was taken to the SCUH suffering from chest pains, while another man was taken to the Nambour Hospital in a stable condition with neck pain.
A woman and a third child were uninjured.
Coolum Police officer in charge Elissa Edie said the crash was head-on and involved a family of five and a single male occupant.
“Luckily everyone had their seatbelts on and airbags were deployed,” Ms Edie said.
While addressing Fatality Free Friday, Ms Edie pleaded with road users to slow down.
“Pay attention to your surroundings and make sure you wear your seat belt,” she said.
