An elderly pedestrian is fighting for his life after a serious traffic crash at Strathpine on Saturday night.
The 85-year-old Strathpine resident was allegedly struck by a Mazda 3 hatchback while crossing Gympie Road at 10pm.
The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed the man suffered life-threatening injuries and remained in a critical condition Sunday morning.
The driver of the Mazda, a 46-year-old woman, did not sustain any injuries and was assisting police with their enquiries into the crash.
“Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV to come forward,” a spokesman said.
“Investigations are continuing,” he said.
