Elderly motorcyclist killed in Gold Coast crash

A 72-year-old Gold Coast man has been killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on the Gold Coast.

An elderly motorcyclist died on Sunday afternoon following a crash on the Gold Coast.

Police said the 72-year-old Surfers Paradise man had been riding a motorcycle alone on Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd about 3:30pm when it left the road and crashed.

The man was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigations were ongoing and police urged anyone with information or footage of the incident to contact Policelink on 131 444.

Another motorcyclist remained in a critical condition in Gold Coast University Hospital on Sunday following a separate crash in Surfers Paradise on Saturday night.

The 41-year-old was injured when his bike collided with a utility.
