Driver, teen passenger in hospital after Tesla hits pole, explodes at Wavell Heights
Two people have been taken to hospital after a Tesla hit a pole and burst into flames on Brisbane’s northside.

A Tesla driver and his teenage passenger have been injured after the car slammed into a pole and caught fire in Brisbane’s north.
About 11am, paramedics were called to Shaw Rd in Wavell Heights where a Tesla crashed into a power pole.
A man in his 50s and a female teenage passenger managed to escape the wreck before the car burst into flames.
Queensland Fire Department are on scene battling the blaze, and traffic diversions are in place by police.
“The fire is expected to burn for some time and is producing a large amount of smoke,” the QFD said in a statement.
“Residents should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medications close by, if required”.
The man and teenager were both taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in stable conditions with some rib and back pain.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
