A man has died and three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Aratula on Saturday morning which closed the Cunningham Highway in both directions.
Initial investigations indicate just after 8am, a Holden Rodeo was travelling south along the Cunningham Highway towards Aratula when it hit a Toyota Hilux travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, a 71-year-old Moogerah man, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Holdenm a 32-year-old Alexandra Hills woman, was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Her two passengers, a four-year-old and a two-year-old, were taken to Ipswich Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses or anyone with relevant vision is urged to contact police.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
