A child has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after they were pulled from water at Deception Bay.

A child has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after they were pulled from water at Deception Bay.

It is understood the child was in a pool at a private residence when emergency services were called just before 3pm.

Four paramedics attended the incident where they treated the child and took them to the Queensland Children's Hospital alongside critical care paramedics.

In a separate incident, five paramedics attended a private residence in Birkdale following a post-immersion incident around 4.30pm.

A woman in her 70s was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
