Child dead, three hurt after crash on Carnarvon Highway near Injune
A child has died after suffering critical head injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on the Carnarvon Hwy in southwest Queensland.

A six-year-old boy has died and three others have been hospitalised after a horror crash on the Carnarvon Hwy in southwest Queensland on Thursday morning.
Police are investigating after a 4WD and truck collided near Injune about 2.10am.
Paramedics treated the two drivers, a 33-year-old Roma man and a 59-year-old Brassall man, and a 18-year-old female passenger for injuries.
The boy was treated for critical head injuries but tragically died at the scene.
Just before 8am, a Queensland Police spokesman said the forensic crash unit would remain scene for “at least the next two hours”.
A spokeswoman for LifeFlight said the Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service helicopter had flown the two patients to the Roma Airport, where they were driven by ambulance to the hospital.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam vision to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
The Carnarvon Highway reopened about 11.30am.
