A car towing a trailer has burst into flames on a major highway west of Brisbane.
The incident happened near the Redbank Plains Rd off-ramp of the Cunningham Hwy at Blackstone in Ipswich.
On arrival, emergency crews found a vehicle with a trailer attached fully engulfed by flames.
According to a Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman, the fire has spread from the vehicle to some nearby grass.
Northbound traffic on the highway was building as crews worked to contain the blaze.
Queensland Ambulance Service was at the scene on standby, with no patients needing assessment at this time.
The fire was extinguished just before 8pm, with the vehicle involved destroyed as a result of the blaze.
Traffic is starting to move along the section of the Cunningham Hwy impacted by the incident.
