The tragic truth about road deaths in Australia

Emergency service crews have been called to the scene of a crash involving multiple vehicles on the Toowoomba Bypass.

The incident occurred on Wednesday about 9.20am eastbound at the Morleys Road off-ramp in Ballard, near the Lockyer Valley.

Three crews from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services as well as Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics are currently on scene.

A spokesman from QAS said while limited information was available, the scene was “chaotic”.

It has been confirmed three trucks and a car are involved in the collision.

The spokesman said it is believed two separate crashes may have occurred on the bypass.

A QFES spokesman said there was a road closure in place but crews were working to remove it.

It is believed the trucks contained no chemicals and no patients appear to be entrapped.

Some lanes on the bypass remained closed with drivers warned to expect delays.

QAS transported two patients in a stable condition to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
