The NT City2Surf is back for 2025, with organisers confident it will break last year’s record of nearly 3,000 participants.

Athletics Northern Territory is expecting another surge in entries for the popular fun run, which has more than doubled in participation since 2022.

The event is set to take place on Sunday, June 1, featuring four races: the City of Darwin 12.5km run, Territory Sports Medicine 4km run, Snap Fitness 4km walk, and Macca’s Marathon4Kids.

Executive officer Leanne Chin said the NT City2Surf’s growth has been driven by increasing local and interstate interest.

“The event has just continued to grow as we attract more interstate entrants and encourage more Territorians to take part,” she said.

“It’s wonderful to see people embrace the opportunity to be active, gather as a community, and enjoy our beautiful Dry season weather.”

This year, the event will see a scaling back of bus transfers.

Instead of pre- and post-race transport, buses will now only run from the finish line back to the start of the 12.5km race.

“We’re encouraging participants to carpool … to the start line … and take the free bus back,” Mrs. Chin said.

“This initiative will reduce congestion around the finish area.”

Early bird registrations close on Monday March 31, with entries available at www.ntcity2surf.com.au.
