Next year’s Darwin Comedy Festival will hit the road, touring a celebration of comedy, creativity and community across the Northern Territory.

The federal government is supporting the festival with more than $38,000 to travel to Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine in the first half of 2026.

The tour will showcase some of Australia’s best comedic talent alongside emerging local performers, providing entertainment for local audiences while creating new opportunities for local artists to develop and thrive.

Darwin Entertainment Centre chief executive Georgia Hendy said the tour was “a strategic step in growing a vibrant, inclusive arts culture right across the Territory”.

“Darwin Comedy Festival on Tour is about more than just laughs – it’s about connecting communities across the Territory with top-tier live performance,” he said.

“By pairing headline comedians with emerging local talent, we’re nurturing the next generation of performers while delivering outstanding experiences for audiences in every town we visit.

“We’re committed to making these performances as inclusive as possible to help ensure more Territorians can enjoy the show.”

Solomon MP Luke Gosling said it was a great example of how we can celebrate creativity while also supporting regional growth and opportunity.

“The Albanese Labor government is proud to support events that take Territory talent to the next level and put the spotlight on our local voices,” he said.

Lingiari MP Marion Scrymgour said taking the festival down the track “sends a strong message to regional communities – that we matter too”.
