The Daily Telegraph has picked up the baton and wants to celebrate all of the state’s fabulous mothers.

From the hardworking to the heroic, from the patient to the persistent, we want to hear your nominations for the inaugural Daily Telegraph Mum of the Year.

The Daily Telegraph is calling for nominations for Mum of the Year.

It could be your mother or it could be someone else’s. It doesn’t matter who.

They could live in Penrith or Penshurst, Mosman or Mortdale, the Blue Mountains or Broken Hill.

Wherever they are, we want to hear why they are the best – from the little things they do to the big things they have achieved in their community.

It comes as children’s charity Barnado’s announced it had axed its Mother of the Year award after 25 years on Monday morning.

The organisation said it planned to launch another award which recognised the “diverse” group of caregivers

“The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed our ability to launch an event in 2021 that celebrates and acknowledges our diverse families and foster carers, however we will continue to plan for this as the year progresses,” the organisation said in a statement on Monday.
