WOULD you ignore a scientist if they said you had cancer?

LET me describe a situation we all fear. You get a lump in your body.
The doctor comes in and says "I'm very sorry but you've got cancer, you only have six months to live."
Most rational people wouldn't shout at the doctor, tell them they're wrong and not take any notice.
But that's what we're seeing happening again and again with the climate crisis.
People ignore it or they get angry with the messengers, whether it be scientists or protesters.
This issue is a question of basic physics, not politics.
When you put carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, it raises temperatures and creates chaotic weather.
So now we have a choice to make - do we stop putting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and try and avoid complete collapse or don't we?
It's that simple and our answer will be what future generations judge us on.
