Year 12 students across the Far North get their ATAR result

Year 12 students across the Far North woke up on Friday to their ATAR results as they plan their next steps in life.

YEAR 12 students the Far North are celebrating and planning their next steps in life, after waking up on Friday to their ATAR results.

Trinity Anglican School in White Rock graduate Murray Colbridge got a 99.85 ATAR.

“I was pretty ecstatic, I was up quite late to see my results and then coming in the morning, I woke up quite early so I didn’t get much sleep,” he said.

“It was pretty exciting to see all the hard work pay off and the result of 13 years of work.”

Mr Colbridge wants to become a doctor like his father.

But he wasn’t the only one with a high score. About 10 per cent of TAS students received a 99 or above.

TAS principal Paul Sjogren said he was happy to see his students do well.

“One of the great pleasures of being in schools is that students come back to visit and they can give you a whole story of what they’ve been doing and its exciting to listen to that,” he said.

St Augustine’s College in Parramatta Park also scored impressive results.

The college’s principal Matthew Brennan said he could not be happier with the results.

“These results certainly compare favourably to the big independent schools to Brisbane. Nothing short of phenomenal,” he said.

Mr Brennan said a number of the students will be going on to study medicine, law, teaching and engineering.
