Police have released images of an intersection where a 43-year-old Far North Queensland woman was killed on the weekend, in a bid for witnesses or information on the fatal collision.

The Malanda woman died and a man in his 40s was hospitalised after a tragic two-vehicle crash on the Tablelands early Sunday morning.

On Tuesday police released images of the Anderson Road and Lake Barrine Road intersection at Peeramon, where the crash happened, as part of an appeal for witnesses or information.

Forensic crash unit investigators are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed or have dashcam footage of the crash, or the moments leading up to it.

In particular police are seeking to speak with people who may have seen a white 2000 dual cab Toyota HiLux driving in the area prior to the incident.

Initial investigations indicate the HiLux and a red Nissan Patrol were travelling in the same direction along Lake Barrine Road before they crashed about 5.30am Sunday.

The passenger of the Toyota ute, a 43-year-old Malanda woman, was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of that vehicle, a 42-year-old Malanda man, was transported to the Atherton Hospital with non-life-threatening neck and arm injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan Patrol, a 64-year-old Peeramon man, was not physically injured.

Police and Queensland Ambulance Services were called to the scene at 5.39am on Sunday after reports a vehicle had rolled at the intersection, 70km southwest of Cairns.
