What skaters think of plans to upgrade the Redlynch Skatepark
A posse of passionate skaters, scooters and bikers who use Redlynch Skatepark know exactly what needs to be done to make the facility even better.

Floodlights, a bigger bowl, half-pipes, spine jumps and more are all on the minds of youngsters who are keen to see the Redlynch Skatepark developed.
Cairns Regional Council is in the first stages of redesigning the skatepark and has called for community’s input.
The council has released a survey for public use and also will be in three locations over the weekend during its consultation.
Earlier this week a young posse on BMX and mountain bikes, scooters and skateboards, had a range of ideas to improve the popular park, which attracts a wide range of ages and skill levels.
Watching the action from the top of a ramp, Cruz Briody, 12, said he thought the skatepark was already “pretty good.”
“I really love this skatepark,” Cruz said.
“Floodlights so we can use it a night would be good, a bigger bowl, a half-pipe and a spine (jump) would be great.”
His friend Jack, 12, who was riding a scooter said a roof with fans which would allow it to be used all year would be popular.
“But not enclosed, no walls,” he said.
”It would be good if we could skate when it rains.”
Tye Hardwick, 11, wants more mountain bike jumps and a water station.
“And bigger stairs to ride up and down, tabletops and places to do wheelies,” he said.
Brian Vogl, 14, took time out from getting air on his bike to encourage his mates to take part on the online survey council has created to get feedback from community.
Meanwhile, Jai Littlemore, 11, also felt more mountain bike jumps would add value to the facility.
“I’d like it to be a bit more the park at Brinsmead,” he said.
“But bigger, with bigger jumps.”
This is the latest skatepark-related project since last August, Yorkeys Knob teen Ross Willis, who led a six-year campaign to have a skate park at the northern beaches suburb was stoked when Cairns Regional Council allocated $170,000 for the project in its recent budget and work on the long-awaited facility began.
