A rescue chopper has been called to a single-vehicle crash at Innot Hot Springs.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a call was received about 3.45pm to reports of a single-vehicle crash into a tree then reportedly into water off Battle Creek Road.

There were five people in the car. Two people have been flown to Cairns hospital in stable conditions.

One was a 49-year-old woman with no obvious injuries and a 6-year-old boy suffered head injuries but was in a stable condition.

A Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service spokesman said both were in a stable condition on Sunday evening.

Three girls of primary school age were taken to Atherton Hospital in a stable condition.
