Townsville crash: Cairns driver in serious Bruce Highway head-on at Clemant
A heroic truck driver has pulled a Cairns man from a burning car after a horror crash that left another man fighting for his life.

A MAN has been flown to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition after a horror crash on the Bruce Highway involving a driver from Cairns.
Police say a dual cab utility towing a trailer was travelling north and a sedan was heading south when they collided on the Bruce Highway at Clemant at 12.15pm on Saturday.
The sedan then caught fire and was extinguished by a truck driver in the area who pulled the driver, a 38-year-old from Mooroobool, from the burning vehicle.

The Cairns driver sustained minor injuries.
The 70-year-old utility driver, from West End in Townsville, was taken by helicopter to Townsville University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Anyone with information or dashcam vision of the area is asked to contact police.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
The highway has reopened.
