A 40-year-old woman was attacked on Monday night in an Edmonton carpark when a group of individuals threatened her with scissors and assaulted her, demanding the keys to her car.

About 8.30pm on November 5, the Edmonton woman was walking towards her car parked on Louie Piccone Way when the group approached her with scissors.

The woman suffered non-life threatening lacerations to her arm before the group fled in her Mazda 6.

The vehicle was later located in Yarrabah.

Three girls aged 17, 15 and 13 from Yarrabah have been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All three are expected to appear before Cairns Children’s Court on November 6.

The investigation is ongoing.
