Search for missing 80-year-old man Victor Horne in Mount Molloy area

UPDATE: AN extensive air and land search for an elderly man lost in harsh outback has failed to find any trace of him.
Victor Horne, 80, was last seen at the Karma Waters Station where he lived alone in a bush camp on the banks of the Mitchell River.
Around 20 police and SES crew and a search and rescue helicopter began searching on Sunday for the man, who lived a solitary lifestyle on the 45,000 hectare property.
His 1975 Land Rover was found four kilometres from his camp on Monday.
A Queensland Police spokesman said investigators were appealing for anyone with further information to contact police.
“Search efforts are still ongoing and Mr Horne still hasn’t been found,” he said.
EARLIER Police and SES volunteers have begun searching for a 80-year-old man who was reported missing in the Mount Molloy area of Mareeba Shire.
Victor (Vic) Horne lives alone in a bush camp on the banks of the Mitchell River at Karma Waters Station.
He is said to be slim, caucasian, 183cm tall with blue eyes and a grey beard.
The search began on Sunday.
His 1975 Land Rover was found four kilometres from his camp on Monday but Mr Holmes was not found.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with further information to contacting police.
