A major Far North music festival has announced a stellar 2022 line-up with a range of top names including its first big international artist.

A MAJOR Far North music festival has announced a stellar 2022 line-up with a range of singers including its first big international artist.

Brad Paisley will be leading the huge Savannah In The Round line-up of more than 30 artists, which also includes Adam Brand, Vanessa Amorosi, The Waifs, Shannon Noll, Jon Stevens and Tex Perkins. The American artist has won many awards for his work, including three Grammys and two American Music Awards.

Mr Paisley is known for his songs She’s Everything and Whiskey Lullaby and he has collaborated with artists including Dolly Parton, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood.

Brad Paisley will lead a stellar line-up for Savannah in the Round 2022.

Savannah in the Round director James Dein said after months of trying to lock the artist in, he was excited they could bring him to Mareeba.

“This is the first international to lock in since Covid,” he said.

“For us to secure him was quite a quite a special thing.”

Mr Paisley will be coming to Australia with a touring party of 35 people, playing arena shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Next year the event has expanded the genre of music to include pop and rock. Some classic Aussie rockers on the line-up include Ross Wilson and Richard Clapton.

“We still have a core focus on country. But we’ve introduced pop and rock into the programming so that the festival has a broader appeal,” he said.

Mr Dein said he expected the festival will pull 25,000 people through the gates over the festival.

Vanessa Amorosi is among the 2022 line-up of Savannah In The Round.

“We feel confident we will see a big increase in our numbers, we will be expanding the camp ground to be able to accommodate more campers,” he said.

“There will be expanded food court areas and expanded shade. We have had some good learnings from the first event and we will be implementing those.”
