City councillors past and present gathered to celebrate the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon’s two decades on Tuesday morning with the ceremonial cutting of a cake.

Traffic will also be affected over the coming days by the arrival of another round of king tides from Friday March 31 to Thursday April 6.
The tides will peak on Tuesday with motorists advised to avoid parking cars in low-lying tidal areas and never drive through floodwaters.
