SOMETHING magical has arrived just in time for Christmas at a major retail store reopening at the biggest shopping centre in the Far North on Thursday.
Target will unveil its refurbished 3400 sqm retail space at the Cairns Central Shopping Centre today, one of the few in Queensland to have a dedicated Disney store inside.
In what is sure to be Frozen music to the ears of the hundreds of little Elsa and Anna fans of Cairns, the section holds products previously only available at Disney parks and specialist retail outlets.
“Essentially it is a mini Disney shop inside the store, which is very, very cool,” store manager Matt Sumara said.
“It’s perfect timing ahead of Christmas for us to launch that range and give our Disney product in Cairns without having to go to Disneyland.
“We’re sure our customers are going to love it”
Target will be giving away gift bags stacked with goodies to the first 250 customers on Thursday who make a purchase, with doors flying open at 9am.
“It’s just a token of our appreciation for their support,” Mr Sumara said.
Target Australia managing director Richard Pearson said they were excited to build on their “connection and history” with the Far North
The retail giant first arrived in Cairns in 1997.
“We’re really looking forward to continuing our 24-year history in Cairns by reconnecting with our customers and delivering on our brand promise of inspiring families to live better,” he said.
Mr Sumara said the reopened store has employed 90 team members.
“We are hoping to see a flood of customers coming in just in time for Christmas,” he said.
