A high-risk offender wanted on multiple offences including weapons and drug-related charges, has been arrested in a small coastal community about 140 km south of Cairns.
Tully Criminal Investigation Branch detectives, alongside other Queensland Police Service units, arrested a man last week at a property in Bingil Bay, Mission Beach.
Authorities executed a search warrant on Tuesday October 29, at a Webb Court residence, where they located the wanted 27-year-old Mooroobool man.
During the search, police allegedly located two handguns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle parked at the property.
Additionally, a Mitsubishi Triton, reported stolen from Tanah Street in Mount Coolum on August 1, was recovered.
The man faces charges of unlawful possession of weapons, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and other drug-related offences.
The Mooroobool man was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons category D/H/R, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, authority required to possess explosives and drug-related offences.
He remains in custody and is due to appear before Innisfail Magistrates Court on November 25.
