One dead, one hospitalised in fatal Atherton car crash
A local Atherton man has died following a car crash in East Barron, with the other vehicle’s driver hospitalised.

AN ATHERTON man has died in hospital following a car crash in East Barron at 9.45am on Monday morning.
A Police spokesperson said the 82-year-old man was driving a Holden Colorado when he collided with a hatchback on the intersection of Malanda Atherton Road.
After suffering critical injuries, he was transported to Atherton Hospital where he later passed away.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 74-year-old Malanda woman, sustained serious injuries and is in a stable condition in Atherton Hospital.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators are seeking witnesses to the collision, and asking anyone with dashcam footage of the accident to come forward.
