An intruder or intruders broke in to the Cairns Performing Arts Centre in the early hours of this morning, leaving a heartbreaking trail of devastation behind it.
Staff at CPAC were left to clean up the horrifying mess, no doubt bemoaning that they have better things to do with their time than pick up the pieces after a vandal or vandals struck. They also advised that no permanent damage was done.
Whether it was disgruntled audience members from earlier shows, someone trying to get in to see “50 Years on: Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody”, a night early, or the ghosts of performers past, is not clear.
The Post was unable to contact CPAC staff today and it is also unclear whether police are yet involved.
Cairns Post staff have undertaken to monitor listings at the Cairns Magistrates Court and ensure the reading public that you will be informed when the perpetrator is brought to justice.
A rumour that the perpetrator was a bush turkey is just likely that – a rumour.
It is April 1, but the video looks real.
