Off-road support business Cape York Riders set for 2026 kick-off

A new business is set to help make remote, hard to reach wilderness areas of Far North Queensland more accessible for adventure motorcycle riders.
Cape York Riders will offer support services from next year for riders by carting essential supplies in an off-road trailer that will meet riders at a prearranged camp site at the end of a hard day in the saddle.
Items that can’t be easily carted on the back of the bike, including tools, parts, fuel, camping gear, first aid kits, food, drinks and cold beer, can still be accessed at the end of the day thanks to a purpose-built trailer towed behind a Mitsubishi Canter four-wheel-drive truck.
Business owner Phill Reuben said the trailer could carry 13 bikes, but 10 was the ideal number.
“We will have set distances of about 300km per day and the riders can make their own way and we will meet them at the end of the day,” he said.
“If something bad happens or a bike breaks they are kind of stranded up there and they have to get the bike home.
“People need that (return) service. Not many people want to ride both ways, given the extreme ride it is to get up there.
“My idea is to leave them up there at Punsand Bay or wherever and they can stay up there for a week and fly home and if they need me to drop the bike off at a depot or at a residence in Cairns, I can do that.”
A seven-day Cape York Adventure support package starts from $2500 and tours will begin after the wet season in 2026.
