THE person following the footsteps of Tina Chinery as the temporary CEO of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) has been revealed as a leading medico from southeast Queensland.
On June 27, it was revealed that Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service executive director of medical services, Dr Jeremy Wellwood would caretake the role from July 4 with a six-month appointment, while the CHHHS Board undertakes a recruitment process to choose a permanent chief executive.
CHHHS Board Chairman Clive Skarott welcomed Dr Wellwood to the Far North.

“He is also an advocate for research, which links well with our vision to become Cairns University Hospital.”
