A public health alert is being issued for contact tracing locations in Cairns.
A Queensland Health statement said the alert relates to passengers who flew from Sydney to Cairns on flight JQ950 on December 3.
“This is a timely reminder for all Queenslanders to regularly monitor the list of exposure venues on the Queensland Health website and follow the public health advice, as there may be more locations.”
The exposure sites have been classified as a mixture of close and low risk contacts.
While some passengers on the flight were initially classified as “casual contacts”, the risk was upgraded when authorities confirmed the infected traveller has the Omicron variant.
All passengers are now considered close contacts.

- All passengers on Jetstar flight JQ950 from Sydney to Cairns on Friday, December 3, from 6.25am to 8.20am.
Low risk contacts
- Gate 17 at Cairns Domestic Airport on Friday, December 3, from 8.20am to 9.30am
- Luggage Carousel 1 at Cairns Domestic Airport on Friday, December 3, from 9.25am to 9.35am
