Search teams are scouring the areas around Cedar Bay in hopes of finding Juliana Jaramillo Castrillon, 36, who has been missing since a Far North event.
Ms Castrillon was reported missing by concerned family and friends about the “unusual” disappearance after the 36-year-old was last seen hiking from Cedar Bay towards Home Rule on Saturday.
A ground search will start on Wednesday morning with police on foot and SES volunteers.
Her last known location was at the bushland track area between Cedar Bay to Rossville after attending Orin-Aya festival in Cooktown.
Orin-Aya festival is described on its website as a “psychedelic global gathering to celebrate together and release the joy within each of us ... raising awareness of who we all are and how we can live together in harmony.”
Teams undertook an aerial search on Monday and Tuesday but there was poor visibility due to the dense terrain.
Ms Castrillon has black, shoulder length hair and can be identified with having a nose piercing, large arrive tattoo to lower back, a small tribal tattoo on her foot and a small wording on the left of her chest.
She was last seen wearing a cap.
Best friend, Alejandra Correa said Ms Castrillon, originally from Byron Bay in New South Wales, was meant to return home over the weekend.
“She said she was coming back on the weekend and she didn’t show up,” she said.
“I know festivals people take drugs but she’s not that kind of person, she’s into spirituality and meditation.”
Queensland Police have begun investigations and urge anyone with information on Ms Castrillon’s whereabouts to contact them.
