Six months on from the grand opening, a Cairns Esplanade restaurant has launched a new cocktail range just in time for summer.

A talking robot waiter named Bella became the talk of the CBD when unveiled at the opening of Cairns’ first iDumplings outlet in February.

A hiccup with the granting of a liquor licence, due to iDumplings and Hecho en Mexico outlets now sharing a single tenancy previously occupied by Barnacle Bill’s Seafood Inn, has now been ironed out.

Part of the iDumplings management team, Grace Hu this week said she was glad state government approvals had at last arrived.

She said new Dragon Bar signage would soon be installed above the Esplanade outlet that takes its name from the signature cocktail made from vodka, peach liqueur and lemon juice called the Dragon.

“Dumpling is definitely the main thing but we want to match those with Chinese Asian fruit flavours,” she said.

“And I would say that this is something unique in this type of industry.”

New menu items have also recently been added, as well as new live music acts.
