THE Instagram influencers from Far North Queensland come from all walks of life with some doing it as a full-time gig and others part-time.
While some became insta-famous by accident, others started their influencer careers from a TV series. But it isn’t for everyone with some revealing how it definitely is not worth the effort for the money.

Estimated earnings per post: $2354.25 – $3923.75
Engagement rate: 0.31 per cent
Cairns mum Libby Powell is a fitness influencer and model. Instagram followers will see Ms Powell posting content wearing Muscle Nation clothing and showing her day-to-day antics including fitness. She keeps her viewers updated with posts about her fitness competition and even surgeries she has done including a cat-eye surgery.
Drew Brauer - @drewboymusic
Followers: 66K
Estimated earnings per post: $262.5 – $437.5
Engagement: 0.50 per cent
Drew Brauer doesn’t consider himself an influencer, he gained a mass following from his appearance on Married At First Sight in 2020. But had a following from being a musician and his charity Kick On.
Mr Brauer said he uses his Instagram to promote mental health.
His mass following get to see posts about his charity and day to day life and every now and then they will see a sponsored post.
“I have done a couple but 95 per cent of the things I have been asked to I say no because it doesn’t align with myself,” he said.
“I don’t do many sponsored posts, very very rarely. It’s not about that for me.
“It’s not about a platform to make money, I see it as anyone with a platform has a responsibility to share a good message, not to sell someone's products whoever pays you the most money.”
Cass Olholm – @cassolholm

Aussie fitness trainer Cass Olholm is the co-founder of The Ground Australia and also a Sweat trainer. She documents her fitness journey on social media including her workouts, form, her baby Charlotte and her dog. Ms Olholm has gained a following also doing online training programs.
Lucy Miller – @lucycmillerrr

Estimated earnings per post: $211.5 – $352.5
Engagement: 0.94 per cent
Lucy Miller has been a Cairns influencer for some time and figured out how to do it for herself with no representation.
She is a model and owns swimwear business Fiasco and Phoenix.
“I spent a lot of time in Los Angeles and I have done a lot of pageants,” she said.
“The network grew from there. I got into Instagram when it was fresh and not everyone was doing it.
“I figured out the good quality photos people like and what does well on the app.”
Ms Miller said she considered herself as a part-time influencer.
“I want to do it something between full time and part time. It is something I enjoy,” she said.
While Ms Miller uses some paid content, she said it was only about 15 per cent of her content.
“I do more collaborative than paid. I really only do collabs and sponsorships when it’s something I really like and I have tried it. Every now and then I do paid ones,” she said.
“You couldn’t pay me enough to post something I don’t agree with.”
Paige Hunter – @Paigelizabethunter1
Followers: 36.5K

Engagement: 2.78 per cent
Paige Hunter has grown her following to 36.5K followers. She promotes fitness and pages like Muscle Nation and My Muscle Chef. Ms Hunter has also gained a mass following through her only fans where she posts exclusive content. Ms Hunter has posted videos using protein powders and gives followers exclusive discounts to various places.
Lauren Higgs – @Lauren.Higgs

Estimated earnings per post: $125.25 – $208.75
Engagement: 0.39 per cent
Lorena the Label owner Lauren Higgs posts her various photo shoots on social media, in the past she has also communicated with her followers letting them ask questions. Ms Higgs started her brand and it has since taken off with loungewear and linen. Ms Higgs shows her style through her social media showing her purses, earings and different outfits of the day.
Sabria Franciskovic – @sabria_franciskovic_xx
Followers: 21K
Estimated earnings per post: $127.5 – $212.50
Engagement: 0.59 per cent
Sabria Franciskovic is an influencer who has given up on sponsored posts and making money from Instagram after trying it for years.
“It’s very time consuming for what it is and the money in it,” she said.
“It’s a very fake and demanding world.
“I am happy with just Kmart clothes, I don’t want my followers to have to think they have to pay so much for clothes.”
Ms Franciskovic said businesses used to make her feel obligated. Whereas now she enjoys posting without having to think about what the brand wants. She said she still likes to keep her followers in the know with what she is doing.
Now she sticks to sharing posts about her dogs.
Karina Rose - @reeniirose

Engagement: 1.28 per cent
Karina Rose documents her fitness journey on her social media, her adventures chasing waterfalls and exploring Far North Queensland and her fun with her friends. Ms Rose comes from an interesting background, studying medical sonography. She even creates engagement through answering many question and answer sessions.
Sari-Ella Thaiday – @Sarithaiday
Followers: 13K
Estimated earnings per post: $90 – $150
Engagement: 4.06 per cent
Sari-Ella Thaiday started in 2020 posting regular content like makeup videos before a talent agency scouted her out. Never did she expect to become an influencer.
“When they reached out to me I thought it was a scam situation,” she said.
But once she realised they were legitimate, she decided to give it a go. She does a lot of content surrounding hair care routines, gymnastics videos and dance videos.
Ms Thaiday said she uses Instagram as self expression and representation.
“It’s kinda like having a bit of a voice on a platform to be able to do that and I use it for that purpose,” she said.
Ms Thaiday works in retail on the side but said she was open to see where the influencing would take her. She said you can actually make a lot of money from being an influencer.
“There’s always something new around the corner,” she said.
“I was just in Vogue and I never would have imagined that.”
But Ms Thaiday said she wanted people to look past the influencer social media stereotypes of how they are in it for their selfish needs.
“But, a lot of people are actually posting about a lot of important things that are beyond themselves,” she said.
