Fire destroys home on Tinaroo Falls Dam Road at Atherton
A Far North home has been completely destroyed after a fire surrounded the property in flames for hours as emergency services worked to get it under control.

UPDATE, 9PM: EMERGENCY services have managed to get a fire under control after it completely destroyed a house in Atherton.
A QFES spokeswoman said five crews attended the home on Tinaroo Falls Dam Road when they received the call about 4.30pm. Two crews were still on scene dampening hot spots but they were due to leave shortly.
The spokeswoman said on arrival the property was fully surrounded with flames but they managed to get it under control in about three hours.
She said the cause was still unknown but a fire investigator may look at it in the morning.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
There were no reports of any injuries.
EARLIER, 7PM: A HOUSE has been completely destroyed as emergency services work to put out a fire at Atherton.
A Queensland Police spokesman said they received reports a house was on fire on Tinaroo Falls Dam Road around 4.30pm.
He said the house was destroyed but thankfully no one was injured.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman confirmed they were still putting out the fire at 7pm.
This comes days after a 55-year-old man died in a house fire south of Innisfail.
