IT’S all about fashion in the Far North as winter hits Cairns in an explosion of colour and florals.
Fashion retail expert Jade Sundman said the winter trends of the year are chunky boots and neon colours.
“Its basically going to be the season to experiment and shouting it out loud with your outfits so not being afraid to make a statement,” she said.
“I find high stilettos have been trumped by this chunky boot trend, comfortable platforms and they add an edge to your look.”
Seconding the funky boots trend, Kay Judd, owner of Your Wardrobe Cairns, said her preloved fashion market showed a new trend.
“Slow fashion is hugely trending, buyers are more conscious,” she said.
To celebrate winter Cairns Central has put on a fashion arcade near Myer until Monday June 6 where customers who spend more than $150 at some fashion stores can win thousand dollars worth of prizes.
There is also an opportunity to shop sustainable at over 100 stalls at YWC at Cairns Showgrounds on Saturday May 28 from 9am to 1pm.
